To all you portrait photographers working toward being a wedding photographer, here are my top three tips I wish I knew before photographing my first wedding. I think back to the very first wedding I ever photographed wonder, “how did I do it?” I had no system, no idea what it takes to photograph a wedding.

I have my first wedding coming up since I relaunched my business in Puerto Rico and its giving me major wedding nostalgia. Today I’m looking back at some of those weddings that tug at my heart for different reasons.

The Vence Family were visiting relatives on the island and decided to book a beach session while they were here. Photographing them was such a treat!! I’ll admit, when Lacy first told me the ages of cuties Eva and Thomas, I had a short moment of worry about getting “THEE shot”.

Alex and I have been friends with Luis and Sanya since I moved to the island in 2019! They are a fun couple, full of energy! They love the outdoors. Whenever we spend time with them they always talk about a sport they played with the family on the weekend or the beach or hike they discovered.
